About

Niamh Quinn Music

Hi, I’m Niamh! Music has been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I have been in choirs and orchestras, I can play several instruments including the French Horn and Recorder (properly, not like what you learnt at primary school). But singing has always been my preferred medium.

I started singing lessons when I was 10 and continued until I was 18, having achieved grade 8 (the highest grade you can do in the UK). Technically I wrote my first song when I was 8, but as I have no remaining record of it, I say that my first song was one I wrote when I was 11 called ‘Re-Erase’ (yes I invented a word, and the song was very cringey).

The first major development in my songwriting happened somewhere between age 15 and covid. I couldn’t tell you exactly what changed, but it was the first time I remember consistently feeling accomplished in my songwriting, I suppose it was just a time of personal growth that reflected onto my music.

The second development came when I started being tutored by Will Jackson in music technology and production. I expand more upon this process in some of my blog posts (eg. Run + Hide), but essentially trying this new process of songwriting launched a new wave of music.

During my first two years of university I wrote approximately 20 songs (not including unfinished songs), so the impact of my work with Will can be clearly seen in my acceleration of productivity. Deteriorating physical and mental health may have helped – you know, life experience!

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” -Bob Marley

I am hoping to use this website as a place to write about my music, my process, the people and songs that inspire me and potentially even my unpublished (unpolished) songs!

If you live in North London and need a producer, Will Jackson has my highest compliments:
